• Selected in the 1984 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals from the University of Maryland

• Veteran quarterback of 14 years with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals (1984-1997)

• NFL Most Valuable Player (1988)

• Four-time Pro Bowl selection

• The most prolific left-handed quarterback in NFL history. Career marks rank among the top ten in the NFL in all-time passing yards, career completions and career attempts. Led the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII vs San Francisco in 1988.

• Esiason set 17 school records for passing and total offense during an All-American career at the University of Maryland. He led the Terrapins to the Atlantic Coast Conference title and a Citrus Bowl berth in 1983.

• Esiason has become a leading national figure in the fight against cystic fibrosis, where he has established the Boomer Esiason Foundation raising millions of dollars to battle the disease. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been named honorary chairs of Building Bridges to a Cure, the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation major gift campaign for its Therapeutics Development Program. Esiason has also worked with other community organizations: United Way, March of Dimes and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Foundation.

• Print & Internet career: wrote A Boy Named Boomer (1995); co-authored Toss with Lowell Cauffiel (1998); contributor to NFL Insider (1999 – 2002); NFL.com (1999 – 2002) and newyorkjets.com (1999 - 2002).

• Television broadcast career: USA Network’s coverage of the World League (1991, 1992); ABC Sports’ coverage of the NFL playoffs as studio analyst (1996, 1997); ABC’s Monday Night Football as game analyst (1998, 1999); Fox Sports Net’s NFL This Morning as studio analyst (2001); CBS’ NFL Today as studio analyst (2002-); and Madison Square Garden Network’s The Boomer Esiason Show (2002-).

• Radio broadcast career: analyst for CBS Sports/Westwood One’s coverage of the NFL’s Monday night schedule, playoffs, Super Bowl and Pro Bowl with Howard David and Matt Millen (2000), with Howard David (2001, 2002) and with Marv Albert and John Dockery (2002-); regular contributor to Imus in the Morning (1998 – 2002); host of The Boomer Esiason Show WLW – Cincinnati, (1999 – 2002); co-host with Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo of weekly sports talk show In the Huddle Westwood One, (1998 – 2002); weekly contributor to the Dennis and Callahan morning show WEEI – Boston, (2000 -).

• Esiason and his wife, Cheryl, make their home on Long Island, New York. They have two children: son Gunnar and daughter Sydney.
